First Meeting Announcement and Call for Papers 33rd
Annual Symposium on Applied Surface Analysis

The 33rd Symposium on Applied Surface Analysis (aka Surface Analysis 2011) will take place April 11th-13th, 2011 at The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, University of Albany. This meeting is both an AVS and Applied Surface Science Division (ASSD) Topical Conference. Visit the conference website for additional information, including meeting registration, the submission of abstracts, suggested lodging, and exhibitor/sponsor forms.

The overall theme of the meeting is Surface Microscopy and Microanalysis. The registration fee for the first 35 students is only $100. The early bird attendee registration fee is $270 (before Feb 21st, 2011). The registration fee includes: two lunches (Mon and Tue), one dinner (Mon), and finger foods during the poster session Tuesday night. We will also have an open bar both nights (Mon and Tue) as well as mid morning and mid afternoon breaks. Free breakfast is provided at the SpringHill Suites Marriot Hotel. We look forward to seeing you at Surface Analysis 2011!

Abstracts on traditional and emerging methods of surface, thin film, and nano materials analyses, and their applications, will be considered, including technique/instrument development, data reduction/handling, and sample preparation. Abstracts in the following areas are particularly encouraged:
